At 2:30pm on 3 and 4 December, Standard Chartered Arts in the Park presents the highly anticipated Giant Puppet and Dramatic Costume Showcase in the West Kowloon Cultural District Art Park.
This year’s event is a Dickensian Christmas treat showcasing 11 four-metre-tall giant puppets, each inspired by a character from the works of Charles Dickens. Come along and marvel at miserly businessman Scrooge from A Christmas Carol, cunning master thief Fagin from Oliver Twist, Wilkins Micawber the eternal optimist from David Copperfield, and old Miss Havisham from Great Expectations, who was jilted on her wedding day and lived the rest of her life in her wedding dress. Created and displayed by six local professional artists and 60 local secondary students, each giant puppet took an average of 200 hours of work to create. The showcase also features 400 students and performing groups sharing over 170 vibrant creative costumes and artworks. Join us at the park and be ready to be amazed!
Standard Chartered Arts in the Park 2022 is an accredited event celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
